Arthritis Medication for Dogs
As dogs age, usually larger dogs, they develop arthristis. Unfortunately, there is no cure but there are arthristis medications avaialable to help relieve some of the pain caused by arthritis. Before there were arthristis medications made specifically for dogs, it was common to give them a dose of asprin to relieve pain. Note that asprin is not safe for cats. Asprin is safest for dogs when given in small doses (1 tablet for larger dogs, 1/2 tablet for smaller dogs), and with a meal. Many newer arthritis medications for dogs have been made, which are much safer and effective. Glucosamine can be bought over-the-counter to help treat the symptoms of arthritis.
